                           Russ E. Hatle
                           CEO & Manager - Imprimis Advisors LLC


Russ Hatle is CEO & Manager of Imprimis Advisors, LLC which provides advisory and financial management services for real estate projects and entities.  He also founded Imprimis Advisor's predecessor, Imprimis Corporation, which specialized in development of business parks, resort and second home communities.  Russ has a distinguished career in master development, with the majority of his experience in the real estate industry.  He attended San Bernardino Valley College and the University of California Riverside.  

Among the diverse projects he has been a participant in or has developed are; land development for single family residential, office and industrial projects, industrial and office buildings, an operating marina and public and private golf facilities.

Russ formed and directed investment partnerships which own or have developed over 400 acres of commercial/industrial sites and industrial/office/commercial/retail buildings aggregating in excess of 3,000,000 square feet.  He was the Managing Partner in developing with Hillman Properties, the East Valley Complex, a 90 acre multi-use park in Redlands, California; and with The Guardian Life Insurance Company, the 32 acre Redlands Corporate Center.  In the Denver, Colorado area he assembled and headed a team of experts who developed and sold 58 acres in Rampart Business Center, including construction of 164,000 square feet of office space and in Westminster, Colorado, developed the 106 acre NorthRidge at Park Centre business park, and 124,000 square feet of office space.  He organized and led the teams which master planned The Glen, a 925 lot master planned community; developed The Trails, 39 estate lots on 309 acres and constructed CrossCreek Golf Club, a championship Arthur Hills design, all in the Temecula, California market area. 

He spearheaded the acquisition, planning and financing of Brightwater Club, a 963 acre private and gated recreational community in Colorado’s Vail Valley. As a lead Director, he took over the CEO’s role in 2008 after the economy collapsed,  led the restructuring of debt in 2009 and a Chapter 11 process to ultimately reposition the Project.

Russ has managed or led the team in funding over half a billion dollars of real estate finance and has represented owners and lenders in working out more than $100 million of Distressed Debt. He has assisted Family Offices and Private Foundations with achieving real estate investment goals. 

Russ was a single digit handicap golfer for a good portion of his golfing days, has been married to Lori for 50 years and is generally under the command of Goblin, a 6 year old mixed Terrier refugee from the witness protection program of the Eagle County Animal Shelter.


James Higgins

Senior Financial Advisor


Jim is a seasoned financial executive with extensive and varied experience in real estate development, banking, and risk management and has worked with Imprimis Advisors, a full service real estate advisory and financial management firm serving developers and investors, since 2004. 

At Imprimis, Jim has worked extensively to help raise capital for an up-scale second home golf community in Colorado’s Vail Valley.   Subsequent to the 2008 financial and real estate challenges, Jim worked with stakeholders and legal counsel to raise capital to restructure and reposition the project through a Chapter 11 bankruptcy including equity holders, secured lenders, lien holders, unsecured creditors, property owners association and club members.  Jim has also assisted developers in structuring and sourcing capital for office and apartment investments as well as advising developers on restructuring and repositioning real estate investments.

Jim’s 30 years of experience with Citicorp and Bank of America includes senior responsibility for financing and capital market solutions for large corporations and extensive credit underwriting as a senior credit officer.  Jim also served as Chief of Staff and head of strategic planning for B of A’s international corporate banking business.  He has also worked with Marsh Inc. to assist clients in identifying strategic, financial, operating risks in their business.

From 2010 to 2015, Jim served on the Advisory Board of Governors at PGA West in La Quinta, California and worked closely with members and ownership through the PGA West bankruptcy. 

Jim is a graduate of Holy Cross College and has a MBA from New York University.  Jim and his wife, Anne, live in San Diego.

John Reed

President, Reed and Associates

John is President of Reed & Associates which provides management consulting services to large master planned development projects across the United States and British Columbia.  He began his association with Imprimis Advisors in 2005. 

Over the course of his 45 year career, John has managed the acquisition, financing, planning, entitling, marketing, sales, and construction of over 250 homes, 1,200 home sites and related commercial and recreational amenities with a value of over $450 million. 

In addition to his work with Reed and Associates, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Storm Mountain Development and is a principal and director of Lone Tree Properties, both development companies based in Vancouver, British Columbia. 

Prior to forming Reed and Associates, John was Senior Vice President of Development and Construction with Kensington Partners for 13 years and managed the development of their highly regarded 700 unit Cordillera project near Vail, Colorado.

His past successes have been attributed to his strong team building skills and unwavering attention to financial metrics.
